In honor of World Sleep Day on March 15th, Accor Hotels has put together advice for getting a good night’s sleep while traveling.
Warm mood lighting
For travelers, lighting plays a crucial role in achieving quality sleep. Swissôtel’s Vitality Rooms are equipped with circadian lighting technology. This technology adapts to individual preferences and habits, ultimately enhancing well-being and overall health.
Aromatherapy
The use of soothing and relaxing essential oils before sleep can potentially promote better sleep. Raffles Hotels & Resorts recently collaborated with the luxury skincare brand Aromatherapy Associates. Together, they’ve created a distinctive deep relax oil.
This oil combines vetiver, sandalwood, and chamomile — ingredients known for their ability to soothe the mind and regulate sleep patterns. Its purpose is to alleviate the restlessness often associated with jet lag.

A comfortable bed
Sofitel’s MyBed aims to provide the ultimate sleep experience. It includes a comfortable mattress topped with feather beds, a duvet, soft pillows, and high-quality linens. Guests can further personalize their sleep experience with the Sleep Menu, which offers a selection of pillows, bedtime snacks, and other relaxing options.
The MyBed concept is a favorite among Sofitel guests worldwide. To date, over 51,000 pillows and beds have been purchased from the Sofitel Boutique.
Stay fit
Fairmont Hotels & Resorts offers the popular Fairmont Fit program. Guests who frequently stay at Fairmont hotels can expect to find running shoes and workout gear in their size waiting in their rooms. Yoga mats and stretch bands are also available upon request.
Fairmont Singapore’s newest fitness center features a team of certified personal trainers, high-tech exercise equipment, and a variety of group classes ranging from Yogailates to ABT. It also houses Singapore’s only SMARTfit Training facility, an interactive training wall that engages both the body and mind.
Get a massage
SoSPA offers a range of relaxing treatments. Guests can choose from mini-treatments lasting 15-30 minutes or indulge in signature treatments that last between 45-90 minutes. All treatments feature top-quality products. For example, SoSPA at Sofitel Krabi Phokeethra uses L’Occitane amenities.
Work off your stress
Staying active during vacation can significantly improve your chances of falling asleep easily at night. Pullman Hotels & Resorts promotes a wellness approach centered around four key elements of health: sleep, food, exercise, and spa. Each element can be customized according to four fundamental principles: age defense, energy boost, balance, and detox.
Pullman’s wellness program was developed with the help of Wellness Coach, Sarah Hoey. The program is designed to help travelers adopt healthier habits. On the food front, Hoey has created the Active Breakfast, with menu options reflecting the four fundamentals of age defense, energy boost, balance, and detox.
Throughout the day, the spas offer body and facial treatments tailored to meet individual needs. Options include: Dawn treatment for a gentle awakening; Daytime treatment for invigoration; and the Evening treatment designed to help guests unwind. As with the breakfast menu, each treatment can be adapted for age defense, energy boost, balance, and detox.
The program addresses exercise through a series of 7-minute videos available on YouTube. Guests can follow Sarah’s yoga and fitness routines from their rooms or participate in group fitness classes. A fitness bag and a local jogging map are also provided.
To help guests get a more restful night’s sleep, the program includes a short guide with gentle stretching and exercise routines: a morning routine to awaken the body and muscles, and an evening routine to alleviate tension built up during the day.
Hoey has already led various training classes and created the Fit Trail and Wellness Break at several Pullman locations — Park Lane Hong Kong, Pullman Arcadia Phuket, and Pullman Bangkok King Power — as part of the Pullman Wellbeing experience. In the future, she will be conducting a variety of masterclasses at participating hotels across the network.
