Xiaomi launched its latest top-tier smartphone series, the Xiaomi 13 Series, in Singapore. The Xiaomi 13 and Xiaomi 13 Pro are the result of a collaboration with Leica, aiming to redefine the smartphone photography landscape for users in Singapore.
Developed in partnership with Leica, these flagship phones boast a triple camera system featuring Leica’s professional-grade lenses. They also come equipped with high-end features like the latest Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor and Xiaomi’s proprietary Surge battery management system.
Both the Xiaomi 13 and Xiaomi 13 Pro are powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 mobile platform, delivering enhanced graphics processing with a powerful GPU. This translates to performance and power efficiency improvements of 42% and 49% respectively compared to the previous generation. Additionally, the CPU performance and power efficiency are boosted by 37% and 47% respectively.¹ This substantial performance upgrade ensures smooth and swift handling of demanding tasks such as computational photography, AI processing in real-time, and gaming, all while extending the phone’s daily battery life.
These devices are also equipped with Wi-Fi 7 support through the Qualcomm FastConnect 7800 Mobile Connectivity System. Notably, the Xiaomi 13 Pro incorporates High Band Simultaneous (HBS) Multi-Link technology, enabling multiple simultaneous connections across the 5 GHz and 6 GHz bands. This facilitates ultra-high speeds of up to 5.8 Gbps, reduced latency, and enhanced network capacity.² Conversely, the Xiaomi 13 employs Dual Band Simultaneous (DBS) Multi-Link operation, achieving network speeds of up to 3.6 Gbps.²
The Xiaomi 13 and Xiaomi 13 Pro integrate Xiaomi’s Surge battery management system. Utilizing Xiaomi’s self-developed Surge charging chip, Surge extends the battery’s lifespan and enhances user experience. With a 4,500 mAh battery, the Xiaomi 13 can easily power through a full day. It also supports 67W wired turbocharging and 50W wireless turbocharging. The Xiaomi 13 Pro, on the other hand, features a robust 4,820 mAh battery with 120W HyperCharge technology, enabling a full charge in just 19 minutes.³
Leveraging the Xiaomi Imaging Engine, both the Xiaomi 13 Pro and Xiaomi 13 possess Xiaomi’s most advanced computational photography capabilities to date. These devices can automatically maintain focus on moving subjects using Xiaomi ProFocus.
The Xiaomi 13 and Xiaomi 13 Pro provide a diverse range of camera settings. The software-based master-lens system delivers exceptional focal length and depth of field, resulting in stunning portraits. Users can choose between two distinctive photography styles – Leica Authentic Look and Leica Vibrant Look – which prioritize accuracy and offer moderate saturation. For added fun, the camera software includes features such as Leica filters, a Leica watermark, and the classic Leica shutter sound.
The Xiaomi 13 Pro boasts the Leica Vario-Summicron 1:19-2.2/14-75 ASPH. camera system, covering focal lengths from 14mm to 75mm. This system comprises a 23mm wide-angle main camera with a large 1-inch IMX989 sensor, a 75mm floating telephoto camera, and a 14mm ultra-wide angle camera. This IMX989 sensor, previously seen in the Xiaomi 12S Ultra, is the largest sensor ever used in a smartphone. Its high dynamic range (HDR), impressive light-capturing abilities, and rapid response time work together to capture images with exceptional clarity, contrast, and detail.
Utilizing DSLR-level internal focusing technology, the phone’s new 75mm telephoto lens features a floating lens design, achieving a focal range from 10cm to infinity.
Meanwhile, the Xiaomi 13 has an optical zoom range of 0.6x to 3.2x and includes a 75mm telephoto lens.
Both the Xiaomi 13 and Xiaomi 13 Pro excel in video recording. Users can Create in Dolby Vision with vibrant colors, striking contrast ratios, and intricate detail. These devices support 4K Ultra night video recording and HyperOIS video stabilization.
Both the Xiaomi 13 and Xiaomi 13 Pro showcase a fresh, minimalist design aesthetic. Available in Black, White, and Flora Green, the Xiaomi 13 boasts a flat screen with a 2.5D curved back design. It has a screen-to-body ratio of 93.3% with ultra-thin 1.61mm bezels and chin.4 The 6.36-inch FHD+ AMOLED display ensures vibrant content display with excellent color accuracy and brightness while minimizing power consumption.
Conversely, the Xiaomi 13 Pro features a 3D-curved ceramic body and comes in Ceramic White and Ceramic Black. It boasts a larger 6.73-inch 120Hz WQHD+ AMOLED display, capable of reaching 1,200 nits of full-screen brightness and 1,900 nits peak brightness. With Dolby Vision, HDR10+, HDR10, and hybrid log gamma (HLG) support, along with Dolby Atmos, the Xiaomi 13 Pro offers a truly immersive audiovisual experience.
Both the Xiaomi 13 Pro and Xiaomi 13 will receive three generations of Android system updates and five years of security patch updates. Users will also enjoy six months of Google One cloud storage (up to 2TB free) and three months of YouTube Premium. Additionally, both devices allow for digital car key sharing with loved ones.
Furthermore, both the Xiaomi 13 Pro and Xiaomi 13 come with one out-of-warranty repair free of labor costs within the first 12 months after purchase. Enhancing the after-sales experience, Xiaomi now provides international warranty services in over 40 markets globally. Xiaomi 13 Pro users who meet the device’s warranty conditions are eligible for global warranty service at any authorized Xiaomi service center.
