In anticipation of the Chinese New Year, The Sanya EDITION presents two unique offerings that provide a genuine experience of Chinese culture.

Guests can immerse themselves in culture and history through The Sanya EDITION’s collaboration with the Forbidden City. This partnership features a temporary shop and exhibit highlighting fine arts and teas. Those with a passion for cuisine will enjoy the luxurious interpretations of Chinese dishes prepared by world-renowned Michelin-starred chefs, specially invited by The Sanya EDITION for the celebratory period.

From January 24th to 31st, 2020, guests can kick off the Year of the Rat with an extravagant Chinese New Year package. This exclusive deal encompasses a private jet journey for two from Shanghai, Beijing, or Guangzhou to Sanya, personalized dining experiences at The Jade Egret, EDITION Villa, or Floating Table, and deluxe transportation.

Adding to the festivities, The Sanya EDITION will host traditional lion dance performances during the Chinese New Year. To further enhance the excitement, there will be impromptu performances and breathtaking fireworks displays.

Cultural Pop-up

From December 2019 to January 2020, The Sanya EDITION’s public areas will be transformed into an “Ocean Library” in partnership with the Forbidden City’s Reading Palace. This temporary installation will showcase a curated collection of books, calligraphy, paintings, and other art forms, alongside an authentic Chinese tea ceremony.

Feast with Michelin-starred chefs

The Sanya EDITION’s food and beverage offerings have always been a significant attraction for guests. To commemorate Chinese New Year, The Jade Egret and Beach Barbacoa will welcome three internationally acclaimed chefs to create a one-of-a-kind culinary experience.

  • Christophe Gilbert from France, Executive Chef of the Michelin-starred restaurant La Baie at The Ritz-Carlton, Osaka, will present his Japanese-French fusion cuisine at The Jade Egret from January 24th to 27th.

  • Massimiliano Mascia from Italy, Chef of the two-Michelin-starred San Domenico in Imola, Italy, will present an Italian-inspired dinner at The Jade Egret from January 28th to February 1st.

  • Titikorn Chun-Orn from Thailand, Chef of The Kitchen Table at W Bangkok, will present his innovative Thai and Balinese fusion cuisine at Beach Barbacoa from January 26th to 31st.

The Jade Egret, a luxurious yacht-inspired restaurant, provides a breathtaking panorama of the hotel’s private oceanfront, while Beach Barbacoa, situated directly on the sand, offers fresh ingredients and grilled dishes in an open-air environment.

Chinese New Year package

Chinese New Year begins on January 25th, 2020, and is customarily celebrated for 15 days. The eve holds particular significance as families come together for a reunion dinner.
