Shangri-La Group has introduced its first lifestyle and entertainment hub, spanning 183,000 square feet on Singapore’s Sentosa Island. This complex boasts eight unique experiences, including dining options.

Chan Kong Leong, Regional CEO for the Shangri-La Group in Southeast Asia & Australasia, Hong Kong, Japan and Middle East, Europe, Indian Ocean & The Americas, emphasized the group’s commitment to providing enjoyable experiences and Asian hospitality. He stated that this venture aims to create excitement and bring more enjoyment to guests beyond their traditional hotel settings, allowing them to create their own memorable moments through diverse leisure and dining experiences.

One of the highlights is HyperDrive, a first-of-its-kind gamified electric go-karting circuit in the region. The three-level track features a 308-meter long, 5.3-meter wide indoor circuit designed for an exhilarating experience with straightaways and 14 turns. The eco-friendly karts can reach speeds up to 30 km/h for novices and 50 km/h for experienced drivers, enabling competitive racing.

Thirty-six electric karts are available in senior, junior, and tandem configurations, accommodating up to 12 karts per session. To mark its launch, HyperDrive will be featured in the Grand Prix Season Singapore (GPSS), a 10-day motorsports event leading up to the Formula 1 Singapore Airlines Singapore Grand Prix.

Partnering with Red Bull Energy Drink, HyperDrive will host a racing competition from August 25 to September 10, 2023. The top eight contestants will then compete in a final race on September 13, 2023, vying for a special fan experience that includes a tour of the Red Bull Racing Garage at the F1 Pit Building during race weekend. Participants who don’t make the final round will receive Red Bull Racing merchandise.

HyperDrive has plans to introduce Asia’s first ‘Game of Karts’ experience in the future. This innovative concept merges virtual gaming with real-life go-karting, allowing drivers to collect virtual bonuses as weapons or boosts within the game to enhance their race performance.

Spectators can enjoy the action from the 110-seat HyperDrive Cafe on the second floor, which provides a panoramic view of the track through its 32-meter open cantilevered gallery.

Adjacent to HyperDrive, visitors will discover UltraGolf, an 18-hole mini-golf course with two starting positions per hole. This unique design offers both seasoned golfers a more demanding game and beginners a more accessible version.

For those seeking an exclusive experience, +Twelve offers a luxurious 290-seat beach club. Its distinctive terraced architecture features 12 private cabanas complete with personal plunge pools and uninterrupted views of Palawan Beach. Guests can enjoy handcrafted cocktails from the swim-up bar and groove to in-house or guest DJs on weekends while savoring the contemporary summer menu.

The Palawan Food Trucks present a diverse culinary experience with ten different trucks serving international cuisines, including Mexican tacos and Korean fried chicken.

Additional attractions encompass Splash Tribe, a beach club; a dedicated dog run; and HydroDash, Singapore’s inaugural floating inflatable playground.

Seafood aficionados can look forward to the opening of Blu Kouzina, a Greek restaurant specializing in grilled seafood delicacies. Featuring fresh catches like whole fish, lobsters, and shellfish, the menu will also showcase signature dishes such as lamb chops and sharing platters. Blu Kouzina @ Palawan Beach is expected to welcome diners in early October 2023.
