The goal of the Taste The World Dining Series is to demonstrate that food serves as a universal form of communication

Gourmet Trails, a luxury travel company, presents the first-ever Taste The World culinary series, taking place from May 4th to 26th, 2024. This festival showcases the unifying power of food, emphasizing its ability to connect people and foster understanding.

Taste The World partners with acclaimed restaurants like Appetite, Hashida, CURE, Canchita, Esquina, Ummi Beirut, and ANJU to offer a diverse range of global cuisines. Proceeds from this event will support the United Nations World Food Programme.

Opening Day Special: A Culinary Dialogue with Chef Ivan Brehm

On May 4th, 2024, Michelin-starred Chef Ivan Brehm of Nouri and Appetite will host a unique lunch experience alongside Gourmet Trails founder Pamela Tan. This intimate gathering, limited to 14 guests, features a multi-course culinary journey, including three snacks, four main courses, dessert, and a beverage of choice (S$300 per person).

Taste The World: Participating Restaurants

  • Hashida: Experience an unconventional take on Japanese cuisine at Hashida, led by renowned chef Kenjiro ‘Hatch’ Hashida. Chef Hashida’s sushi omakase menu reflects his personal journey and artistic vision. Lunch and dinner are available at S$220 and S$450 per person, respectively. Dinner reservations are open on May 10th and 16th, with lunch seatings available on May 15th and 18th.

  • CURE: Embark on a culinary exploration of modern Irish cuisine at CURE, delving into its rich history and seasonal ingredients. Michelin-starred chef Andrew Walsh presents variations of his seasonal menu on May 9th for dinner (S$300 per person) and May 10th and 11th for lunch (S$220 per person).

  • Canchita: Chef duo Daniel and Tamara Chavez blend the vibrant flavors of Peru and Mexico in a six-course dinner at Canchita, Dempsey Hill. Guests will witness live demonstrations of ceviche, a Peruvian staple, and mole poblano, a traditional Mexican stew. Dinner is available on May 4th and 23rd at 7:00 pm (S$220 per person).

  • ESQUINA: Indulge in a six-course dining experience at ESQUINA, orchestrated by Barcelona-born chef Carlos Montobbio. This exclusive one-night event includes a pairing of Gran Reserva and Reserva Especial wines valued at S$600 per bottle. Join them on May 15th at 7:00 pm (S$220 per person, including wine pairing).

  • UMMI Beirut: UMMI Beirut invites guests on a culinary voyage to Beirut with a limited-time set menu. Under the guidance of Michelin-starred chef Greg Malouf and protégé chef Ali Assaf, UMMI presents refined Lebanese classics in an elegant setting. Enjoy a welcome drink, followed by six hot and cold mezze accompanied by freshly baked Lebanese bread. Guests can select their preferred main course and conclude the meal with UMMI’s signature kunafeh dessert. Available from May 4th to 26th for dinner (S$180 per person).

  • ANJU: Situated in Tanjong Pagar, ANJU offers a modern Korean dining experience with a four-course dinner, featuring a dish specially crafted for Taste The World attendees. Available on May 7th for a minimum of two guests.
