Epson recently introduced a new printer with a Replaceable Ink Pack System (RIPS) that offers both high speed and quality while significantly reducing costs. The WorkForce Pro WF-C869R boasts a high page yield and a low cost per page, which can lead to considerable savings for businesses compared to using laser printers.

The printer’s high-capacity ink packs come in two options: standard packs that yield up to 22,500 black and 22,000 color pages, and larger packs that yield up to 86,000 black and 84,000 color pages.

Using Epson’s PrecisionCore technology, the WF-C869R prints at speeds up to 35 pages per minute for both black and color, with resolutions reaching 4,800 x 1,200 dpi for specialized media and 600 x 600 dpi for standard prints. Since PrecisionCore doesn’t rely on heat, the WF-C869R requires no warm-up time and produces the first page in just six seconds.

Compared to laser printers, the WorkForce Pro WF-C869R uses fewer consumables and generates less packaging waste, leading to increased office productivity thanks to reduced printer maintenance and downtime. Its long-lasting consumables, including ink packs, maintenance box, and paper pick-up rollers, only require occasional replacement. This contrasts with laser printers, which require toner cartridges, photoreceptors, waste toner boxes, transfer units, and fusing units.

The adaptable WF-C869R printer accommodates various media types with weights from 64 to 256gsm. Its rear tray supports specialized media such as photo paper, and different paper sizes can be loaded in designated cassettes for automatic selection. Epson’s dual CIS technology enables single-pass duplex scanning, enhancing both speed and office efficiency.

“The new WF-C869R provides our clients with an unprecedented level of productivity and cost-effectiveness,” remarked Tan May Lin, Epson Singapore’s General Manager of Sales, Marketing & Customer Service Division. “This RIPS printer surpasses laser printers in terms of environmental friendliness, cost savings, and overall cost of ownership due to its low maintenance requirements. Businesses can anticipate reduced operational costs and enjoy superior inkjet printing quality with this new Replaceable Ink Pack System printer.”

With Epson Connect, users can print documents directly to smart devices or cloud storage services using Epson iPrint. Scans can be directly sent via email or to cloud storage. Near field communication (NFC) allows users to print or scan by simply tapping their compatible device on the printer. Epson Device Admin simplifies the monitoring, management, and configuration of multiple printers within a network. Meanwhile, Epson Print Admin allows businesses to monitor and reduce printing usage while ensuring the security and confidentiality of printed materials. The WF-C869R also supports third-party software like Papercut MF, offering similar features to Epson Print Admin.
