The Double 12 Global Shopping Festival aims to attract Alipay users

Alipay, the world’s leading online and mobile payment and lifestyle platform operated by Ant Financial Services Group, launched its 2017 Double 12 Global Shopping Festival in Southeast Asia. The festival includes Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, and the Philippines.

Double 12 is a global event spanning 15 countries and territories across four continents. Over 500 brands and 100,000 merchants worldwide participate, offering Alipay users exclusive promotions throughout December.

Singapore

  • Department stores like Tangs, Metro, and Robinsons on Orchard Road will offer discounts up to 50% on select products for Alipay users.

  • Suntec City: Each Alipay user can enjoy one RMB50 shopping e-coupon and one RMB25 dining e-coupon.

  • Flying Through Time show admission at Resorts World Sentosa: Enjoy a 40% discount when purchasing two or more adult admission tickets.

  • Jurong Bird Park, Night Safari, River Safari, and Singapore Zoo: Select souvenirs and drinks will be offered at a 50% discount.

  • Wild Wild Wet: Get 50% off your second ticket purchase.

Malaysia

  • At Suria KLCC, Alipay users can redeem a RMB20 shopping e-coupon and a RMB10 dining e-coupon through their Alipay app for use at participating merchants. Over 100 merchants in the shopping center accept Alipay, many offering 50% discounts to mark the shopping festival.

  • At Robinsons department store, mainland Chinese travelers will find deals of up to 50% off on selected items. Eraman duty-free stores at airports will hold a Swarovski jewelry lucky draw for Alipay users spending over RMB2,000 via Huabei, a consumer financing service within the Alipay app.

Thailand

  • Department stores such as Siam Paragon, Siam Discovery, Siam Center, Emporium, Em Quartier, and Bluport will offer Alipay users discounts of up to 50% on select products.

  • Fashion brands LaLaMa by NaRaYa and NARA by NaRaYa will provide Alipay users with discounts of up to 50% on purchases.

  • 7-Eleven convenience stores across Thailand will offer a 50% discount on select products for Alipay users.

Additionally, Ant Financial’s strategic partners, including Truemoney in Thailand and GCash in the Philippines, will introduce Double 12 to their local e-wallet users for the first time. For instance, in Thailand, over 10,000 merchants will participate in 1212 D-day Deals for Truemoney users. In the Philippines, 3,000 merchants will offer exclusive discounts on 1212 GCash Day.
