It’s finally time! The Beomaster 8000 from Texas is back together and in the testing stage. I’ve mentioned before that this is my favorite part.
The last step was to replace the control panel’s temporary tape with the correct push nuts.
I also treated the other push nuts holding the control wheel assemblies with rust remover.
I took the flat metal spring from beneath the button panel’s center mounting post and repurposed it for the tone control panel lid’s press bar. I used removable black hot glue under the two Beolover cables and on the blue optical sensor wires to provide strain relief on those solder points.
I had to replace the filter & tone control panel lid’s broken damper lever before reinstalling it.
Finally, it was time for the final reassembly! I reconnected the Beomaster cables, referencing photos I took when it arrived to ensure they were routed similarly to their original configuration (although some variation likely existed from previous repairs).
Here’s the filter & tone control panel side.
And here’s the microcomputer and display side.
And finally, the fully reassembled Beomaster 8000, polished and plugged in. It looks amazing!
It’ll spend a few days being tested in one of my listening rooms before I return it to its owner. It’s hooked up to a Beogram 8002, a Beocord 9000, and Beovox M100.2 speakers. This is going to be enjoyable!
