Singtel is introducing a new generation of XO plans, bringing customers into the 5G era. These XO Plus plans offer an enhanced mobile experience, featuring the newest 5G phones, data plans up to 150 GB, 5G connectivity, and complimentary three-month subscriptions to Bookful, an augmented reality (AR) educational content platform, and MelodyVR, which provides virtual reality (VR) live music experiences.

Gan Siok Hoon, Managing Director of Sales & Marketing, Consumer Singapore at Singtel, stated that the company understands its customers desire exciting content and good value. She expressed delight in offering a new realm of unique experiences made possible by Singtel 5G and the generous data allowances of the XO Plus plans. Highlighting 5G’s capabilities, she added that its high speed and low latency significantly elevate content consumption and entertainment, making learning more engaging with AR and 3D and transforming concerts into immersive experiences without the physical presence of a crowd. As 5G adoption grows, Singtel aims to push beyond connectivity, innovating and delivering services and products that best utilize this advanced technology.

Priced at S$88 per month, XO Plus 88 is projected to be a popular choice among users with high data demands and families. This plan provides 60 GB of local data, 600 minutes of talk time, and 600 SMS, which can be shared by simply adding MobileShare supplementary lines.

MelodyVR offers unlimited access to a vast collection of 360-degree virtual reality concerts featuring popular artists like Imagine Dragons, Kelly Clarkson, Lewis Capaldi, and more. It aims to provide the closest experience to attending a live performance. Through its “jump spot” technology, MelodyVR enables users to select their viewing perspective, whether it be from the front row, within the crowd, or right next to their favorite artist on stage. The app is available on both Android and iOS devices and compatible with VR headsets such as Oculus Go and Samsung Gear, offering a more immersive concert experience.

The Bookful app, available to XO Plus customers, transforms screen time into interactive reading sessions. The app uses AR and 3D animation to bring characters and stories to life. Bookful features an extensive library of educational games and titles.

Singtel boasts Singapore’s most robust and fastest 5G network, achieving speeds up to 1.2 Gbps. Since its launch in September 2020, Singtel has broadened its 5G network’s reach to provide coverage inside VivoCity, Singapore’s biggest mall. Additionally, they have expanded their island-wide coverage to encompass major residential areas such as Clementi and Punggol.

Launched on February 3rd, the indoor 5G service at VivoCity utilizes the 3.5 GHz spectrum and small cell radio dot technology, delivering speeds up to 1.2 Gbps. This ensures a smooth and consistent 5G experience for users, regardless of their location within the mall.

Coinciding with this launch, Singtel inaugurated its first in-mall 5G experience center at its exclusive retail outlet on VivoCity’s second level. Visitors can test 5G-powered Wi-Fi and stream exclusive 4K content from Love Nature using their smartphones.

Consumers in Singapore can sample 5G speeds by visiting Singtel’s 5G experience zones, which are situated at their multimedia booths and at the UNBOXED Lite location on Orchard Road. Additional 5G experience zones are planned to be rolled out across the island in the upcoming months. Singtel has announced its intention to extend its in-building 5G service to other popular shopping malls such as Ngee Ann City and Bugis Junction within the next few months.
