Orchard Road in Singapore is adorned with Christmas lights

Singapore’s Orchard Road is aglow with Disney magic this holiday season. The “Disney Magical Moments — Christmas on A Great Street!” celebration features illuminated displays of beloved characters. The lights were officially switched on the evening of November 10.

Here’s a glimpse of the Toy Story-themed lights outside Plaza Singapura from the opening night.

The lights are arranged in four color-themed zones:

- Orange: Pixar’s Toy Story characters, including Woody, Buzz Lightyear, and their friends.

- Deep blue: Frozen fans will love the lights inspired by Elsa and Anna’s world at Orchard Central.

- Sky blue: Mickey Mouse and his friends help everyone celebrate his 90th anniversary.

- Pink: Cinderella-themed decorations grace Wheelock Place, while Shaw House offers an Ariel (The Little Mermaid) photo opportunity.

The Great Christmas Village at Ngee Ann City is a hub of holiday cheer, featuring festive food and drinks, amusement rides, and nightly live entertainment. Visitors can also enjoy the Hitachi Santa House and the Timbre X Food Village & Bar.

Hitachi has been the primary sponsor of the annual Christmas light-up since 1991. During the Orchard Road Christmas Light-up ceremony, Hitachi Asia Chairman Kojin Nakakita expressed the company’s commitment to supporting the event for many years to come.

The Christmas Village is open:

  • Sundays – Thursdays: 11:30 am – 10 pm
  • Fridays and Saturdays: 11:30 am – 11 pm
  • Christmas week (December 20–24, 2018): 11:30 am – 11 pm
