The online shopping platform MatahariMall has broadened its Pickup&PayCOD and eLocker services through a partnership with PT Pos Indonesia in Jakarta. This collaboration uses an online-to-offline approach, enabling customers to receive, return, and pay for their online purchases at physical locations.

This partnership introduces more Pickup&PayCOD points at designated post offices. Additionally, MatahariMall will install eLockers at strategic post office locations across Jakarta, Bogor, Depok, Tangerang, Bekasi, and Bandung.

“To ensure a positive shopping experience, MatahariMall is dedicated to innovation. One such effort is the expansion of our Pickup&PayCOD points, already the largest in Indonesia, to 199 cities and regencies. We are also installing eLockers in ten PT Pos Indonesia locations. This service will be rolled out progressively starting December 8, 2015,” shared Emirsyah Satar, Chairman of MatahariMall.com, during the MoU signing ceremony.

Indonesia’s e-commerce sector is witnessing substantial growth. In 2014, the value of e-commerce transactions reached US$12 billion, and the Indonesian government anticipates this to surpass US$130 billion by 2020.

“E-commerce is a crucial driver of Indonesia’s economic progress. Therefore, we are dedicated to rapidly developing technological infrastructure to maximize the growth of our e-commerce ecosystem," stated Rudiantara, the Minister of Communications and Informatics, who was present at the MoU signing. “The eLocker signifies a strategic use of technology to meet the online shopping demands of Indonesians. The government fully endorses the collaborative efforts of MatahariMall and PT Pos Indonesia.”

MatahariMall’s CEO, Hadi Wenas, expressed appreciation for the government’s support. “This MoU underscores MatahariMall’s commitment to providing a unique shopping experience for customers across Indonesia. Soon, our customers will have access to payment options at 4,500 Pos Indonesia branches, pickup and payment in 199 cities or regencies, and automated goods retrieval from ten eLockers situated within post offices in the Greater Jakarta and Bandung areas.

This partnership guarantees a simpler, more secure, and convenient online shopping experience for customers across cities, regencies, and even within a significant portion of villages and remote transmigration areas throughout Indonesia. The MatahariMall and PT Pos Indonesia partnership strengthens the most extensive O2O service in Southeast Asia, a point of pride for Indonesia,” Wenas remarked after the MoU signing.

MatahariMall provides two O2O solutions. In major cities, it partners with PopBox Asia, while in other areas, it offers Pickup&PayCOD services. Additionally, MatahariMall collaborates with PT Pos Indonesia for nationwide deliveries.

“PT Pos Indonesia is committed to offering top-tier services in Indonesia. We’ve observed a considerable rise in online shoppers, a trend that continues to climb annually. This motivates us to cater to these needs efficiently and conveniently by hosting MatahariMall’s eLockers in PT Pos Indonesia branches,” explained Gilarsi WS, President Director of PT Pos Indonesia.

“This partnership marks a significant stride towards our goal of contributing to Indonesia’s economic growth. We are optimistic that this strategic collaboration will prove advantageous for those in second-tier cities and remote regions across Indonesia,” concluded Emirsyah Satar.
