JeweLuxe Singapore introduces a unique luxury retail concept unlike any other

JeweLuxe Singapore, a curated showcase featuring design, craft, artistry, and innovation from around the world, will launch in Singapore this October at TENT@Ngee Ann City along Orchard Road.

The exhibition, open to the public from October 6 to 15, 2017, will showcase items for collectors, connoisseurs, and enthusiasts across various luxury lifestyle segments, including jewelry, timepieces, vintage items, eyewear, fashion, art, and living.

Supported by the Singapore Tourism Board’s Kickstart Fund, this first-of-its-kind exhibition combines offline and online concepts, featuring aspects of a retail exhibition and an e-commerce marketplace.

“For over a decade, I have successfully built a platform through Singapore JewelFest for passionate jewelry designers and brands worldwide to showcase their exquisite creations and gemstones," says Angela Loh, Founder and CEO of JeweLuxe. “To satisfy shoppers’ evolving tastes for a more discerning retail mix of affordable luxury, I am thrilled to introduce the brand new JeweLuxe Singapore – the world’s first multi-segment retail exhibition with an e-commerce marketplace.”

The exhibition aims to generate over S$9 million in sales during its inaugural year. “Singapore is a city of sophisticated shoppers who appreciate unique pieces, whether jewelry, timepieces, art, or other lifestyle offerings,” Loh adds. “The city also attracts discerning shoppers from Asia and around the globe who enjoy the variety of international and independent brands in Singapore, making JeweLuxe Singapore an ideal platform for brands to reach Southeast Asia’s affluent consumer segment.”

The inaugural exhibition, held from October 6 to 10, will focus on rare and iconic pieces, featuring renowned American designers curated by Paolo Costagli, an American designer and jeweler. Designers such as Kimberly McDonald, Sylva & Cie, Amedeo, and Moritz Glik will make their Asian debut at this first edition of JeweLuxe. Additionally, jewelry houses like Mouawad (US), Glajz (Singapore), DeGem (Malaysia), Hans D. Krieger Fine Jewellery (Germany), Karen Suen (Hong Kong), Scavia (Italy), and Moiseikin (Russia) will present rare and exceptional gems. Other highlights include iconic jeweled eyewear by Lotos (Germany) and rare vintage timepieces, jewels, and objects presented by Betteridge (US) and Revival Vintage Jewels & Objects (Singapore).

Edition Two (October 11 to 15) will showcase European and Asian excellence. A lineup of European jewelry designers and brands includes Federica Rettore (Italy), Federico Buccellati (Italy), Magerit (Spain), and Rodney Rayner (UK) making their Southeast Asian debut. The exhibition will also feature Heinz Mayer (Germany), Castaldi Gioielli (Italy), Rota e Rota, and award-winning Asian designers such as Shirley Zhang (China), Caratell (Singapore), Simone Jewels (Singapore), Kavant & Sharart (Thailand), and Baerjewels (Hong Kong). Handcrafted handbags and timepieces by Graziella (Italy) and Zannetti (Italy) will also be on display.

For both editions, WTP The Furniture Company (Singapore) and Art Front Gallery (Singapore) will curate desirable items in living and contemporary art. Visitors can also enjoy a series of high-quality educational and appreciation events focused on design, craft, artistry, and innovation with The Savoir Series.

The organizers of JeweLuxe cite that by 2025, the online share of total global luxury sales is projected to double to €70 billion annually, making e-commerce the world’s third-largest luxury market after China and the US*. While the exhibition allows shoppers to interact directly with world-renowned designers and artisans, the e-commerce marketplace offers a seamless and convenient shopping experience any time of the year.

The JeweLuxe World e-commerce marketplace will also curate special features for specific occasions and offer personalized shopping experiences through the JeweLuxe Concierge. “The launch of this unique multidimensional sophisticated living showcase is an ideal opportunity to expand the retail experience into a year-round online concept,” says Nelson Lee, JeweLuxe Chief Digital & Marketing Officer, serial digital entrepreneur, and partner of online marketplace goBob.sg and independent digital agency Section. “The JeweLuxe World e-commerce marketplace will be a digital community for buying curated pieces showcasing the finest design, craft, artistry, and innovation, and for sharing insights and appreciation.”

In addition to Costagli, other curators include Brenda Kang, founder and owner of Revival Vintage Jewels, who curated the event’s vintage collectibles. She is one of the few vintage jewelry experts in Asia. Other curators include Federica Rettore, a sculptor with her own jewelry line, for European excellence, and Dr. Bernard Cheong, founding partner of Lifeline Medical Group in Singapore, for timepieces. Dr. Cheong is an influential horologist, a respected collector of watches, mechanicals, and men’s collectibles in Asia, and the first collector and non-watchmaking industry ambassador appointed for the Foundation de la Haute Horlogerie.
