Incredible variety, suitable for all

A list of Galaxy A72 features.

This document provides an overview of the Samsung Galaxy A72’s features.

Samsung Electronics has launched the Samsung Galaxy A52, A52 5G, and A72 smartphones. These devices prioritize desirable features like an impressive camera, high-quality display, and long battery life, embodying the idea that “awesome is for everyone.” Additionally, the Galaxy A series integrates seamlessly with the broader Galaxy ecosystem, which encompasses devices such as Galaxy Buds Pro, Galaxy SmartTag, and Galaxy Tab.

Dr. TM Roh, President and Head of Mobile Communications Business at Samsung Electronics, emphasized Samsung’s commitment to delivering products that align with consumer desires and requirements. He stated that the Galaxy A series embodies this philosophy by offering cutting-edge technology, services, and features at an affordable price point.

The camera system of the Galaxy A series boasts notable advancements, including:

  • A quad-camera setup with 64MP resolution, enabling the capture of vibrant and detailed photos and videos. The ‘4K Video Snap’ feature allows users to extract 8MP still images from 4K video recordings. Leveraging artificial intelligence, the ‘Scene Optimizer’ automatically adjusts camera settings for optimal results across 30 different image categories and backgrounds, such as food, scenery, and pets. Furthermore, the A72 introduces a 3x optical zoom, a first for the A series, along with a 30x digital zoom capability.

  • Optical Image Stabilization (OIS) technology, which compensates for hand movements, resulting in sharper and more stable photos and videos. This is achieved through a built-in gyro sensor that detects motion while recording and instructs the microprocessor to adjust the camera lens accordingly. The ‘Night mode’ feature employs multi-frame processing to produce well-lit and clear images even in low-light conditions, a capability that Samsung highlighted during the virtual launch event.

  • Augmented Reality (AR) features such as ‘AR Emoji’ and ‘My Filter,’ providing users with tools for creative expression. Through a partnership with Snapchat, users of the three new phones gain access to Snapchat’s ‘AR Lenses’ directly within the native camera app via ‘Fun Mode.’

The new A series models prioritize display quality, offering:

  • An enhanced visual experience on Samsung’s Super AMOLED display, now with a 120Hz refresh rate on the Galaxy A52 5G and a 90Hz refresh rate on the Galaxy A52 and A72, resulting in smoother scrolling.

  • Improved screen readability in bright environments thanks to a peak brightness of 800 nits, a new high for the Galaxy series.

  • A more comfortable viewing experience with the ‘Eye Care’ certified display, which automatically adjusts the screen’s color temperature based on usage patterns to minimize eye strain, a feature facilitated by ‘Eye Comfort Shield.’

The enhanced Galaxy A series experience, particularly beneficial for active social media users, is further enriched by seamless integration with the Samsung Galaxy ecosystem:

  • ‘SmartThings’ empowers users to connect and control their smart home devices directly from their Galaxy A series phone, encompassing wearables, tablets, PCs, and TVs. The ‘SmartThings Find’ feature assists in locating paired devices with more precise directions, while the Galaxy SmartTag Bluetooth tracker can be attached to non-connected devices and belongings for easy tracking.

  • ‘Music Share’ allows users to synchronize their phone with a friend’s device to share music without the need for speaker pairing. The phones also support pairing with two sets of Galaxy Buds devices simultaneously using the ‘Buds Together’ feature.

  • ‘Quick Share’ facilitates the transfer of photos and videos to nearby Galaxy devices without size restrictions. With ‘Private Share,’ users retain control over sharing permissions and can revoke access to shared content with a single tap.

Other noteworthy features of the new Galaxy A series include a two-day battery life on the A52 (with a 4,500mAh battery) and A72 (with a 5,000mAh battery). The phones intelligently activate a power-saving mode when they detect that the user is asleep.

The integrated ‘Game Booster’ software enhances the gaming experience by optimizing network connectivity and reducing latency. It achieves this by dynamically adjusting settings such as battery usage, temperature, and memory allocation.

The new Galaxy A series also includes standard Galaxy features:

  • The Galaxy A52, A52 5G, and A72 are water and dust resistant, meeting the IP67 rating. With the optional ‘Samsung Care+’ subscription, users gain access to immediate support and comprehensive coverage for accidental damage, breakdowns, theft, and loss.

  • ‘Samsung Knox,’ Samsung’s defense-grade security platform, provides real-time protection for personal information and data.

  • The Galaxy A52 5G offers access to faster 5G network connectivity.

The Galaxy A52, A52 5G, and A72 are equipped with essential Galaxy features, including stereo speakers and support for expandable storage up to 1TB via microSD card. Dolby Atmos technology further enhances the audio experience by creating an immersive soundscape. Moreover, the redesigned ‘One UI 3.1’ interface offers a more intuitive user experience with faster performance, fewer distractions, and a focus on essential information.

Samsung prioritizes providing Galaxy users with up-to-date software, a commitment that now extends to the A series. The Galaxy A52, A52 5G, and A72 will receive software updates for three generations and regular security updates for a minimum of four years.
