In August, an innovation event will be held in Singapore

The second one-north Festival, a celebration of research, innovation, creativity, and enterprise, will take place on August 18th and 19th, 2017, at Biopolis in Singapore.

Organized by A*STAR and JTC, the festival’s theme, Pioneering an Innovation Future, centers around future health, living, and work. This year’s festival will incorporate Science Centre Singapore’s X-periment!, showcasing cutting-edge health innovations.

Highlighting the collaborative spirit of the one-north community, the festival showcases how partnerships between research performers and industry partners drive advancements in research, innovation, and enterprise, benefiting Singapore’s economy and enhancing lives.

Attendees can participate in a wide range of activities from August 18th to 19th, including over 40 talks, 50 laboratory tours and open houses, five interactive workshops, and close to 50 exhibition booths, all open to the public.

Educational Talks (registration required)

Over 40 talks will feature experts from diverse fields, including scientists, innovators, academics, and industry leaders. They will discuss how science is shaping our lives and work, and what exciting advancements lie ahead.

Future Health will delve into the latest breakthroughs in medical technology, drug discovery, healthcare, and well-being, aimed at improving the lives of Singaporeans.

RACE.EAT.PLAY

Organized by JTC, the inaugural RACE.EAT.PLAY aims to inspire innovation within the one-north community and beyond.

  • RACE: Witness the first-ever Soapbox Race in one-north, where non-motorized, gravity-powered soapbox cars will navigate a race and obstacle course on Biopolis Road. Contestants will be judged on speed, creativity, and showmanship. Race day is Saturday, August 19th.

  • EAT: Indulge in personalized coffee with your selfie printed on it or explore the latest raw food culinary concepts at the Future Food Street, showcasing the trendiest food experiences.

  • PLAY: Participate in the Robotics Jamming event and build your own robot or drone. Activities are designed for all ages, from 6 years old to the young at heart.
