Huawei has launched the HUAWEI nova 3i

Singapore is among the first countries globally to introduce the HUAWEI nova 3i, a midrange smartphone equipped with AI-powered front-facing dual cameras.

Huawei aims to make high-end technology and value accessible to budget-conscious consumers, according to Cheng Jiangfei, Managing Director of Huawei Singapore Consumer Business Group. He emphasized that the HUAWEI nova 3i combines stylish design with advanced AI features, offering exceptional quality and functionality at an affordable price.

Notable features of the HUAWEI nova 3i include:

  • A distinctive rear appearance achieved with a special textured film beneath the glass back, producing a unique gradient effect.
  • Four AI-powered cameras: 24 MP and 2 MP on the front, and 16 MP and 2 MP on the rear.
  • A next-generation 6.3" FullView display with FHD+ resolution (2,340x1,080), a 19.5:9 aspect ratio, and 85% color gamut coverage.
  • Huawei’s first quad-core Kirin 710 chip, designed for the nova series, and the latest EMUI 8.2 operating system.

The HUAWEI nova 3i is the first smartphone worldwide to boast a front-facing 24 MP primary sensor and a 2 MP secondary sensor enhanced by AI. Its AI capabilities recognize over 200 scenarios across eight categories, including blue sky, plants, and beaches, allowing the camera to optimize photos for realistic results.

The 24 MP primary sensor excels at capturing details with its f/2.0 wide aperture lens, while the 2 MP secondary sensor captures depth information using dedicated hardware. This dual-camera setup produces impressive bokeh effects and simplifies photo editing.

The rear-facing camera system features a 16 MP primary sensor for capturing vibrant images and videos, and a 2 MP secondary sensor for depth data and bokeh effects. The handset also provides intelligent composition assistance during photography.

Leveraging AI and machine learning, the HUAWEI nova 3i offers 3D Qmoji, a fun social media feature that creates personalized digital avatars from users’ faces.

The HUAWEI nova 3i boasts the latest 6.3" FHD+ (2,340x1,080) 19.5:9 FullView display, delivering larger and sharper visuals. Its color reproduction has also been enhanced, covering 85% of the color gamut, a 10% improvement over its predecessor.

The front design showcases symmetry, with the earpiece speaker positioned between two sensors. The notched front seamlessly transitions into a glass back, which is attached to a robust aluminum-magnesium alloy mid-frame. This design contributes to the phone’s slim profile and comfortable grip. The Iris Purple gradient color is created by a textured film beneath the curved glass, blending purple and blue hues with neon-like contrasts for a futuristic aesthetic.

Huawei ensures a high-quality AI experience with the Kirin 710 system-on-a-chip (SoC), which delivers exceptional and well-balanced performance. EMUI, Huawei’s operating system, features AI-powered services like AI shopping. The HUAWEI nova 3i also includes an AI gaming mode that maximizes SoC performance while minimizing distractions from notifications and calls.

In addition to the Kirin 710 SoC and 4 GB RAM, the HUAWEI nova 3i utilizes GPU Turbo technology. This graphics processing accelerator optimizes graphics processing at the system level, improving software-hardware integration and overcoming traditional CPU and GPU limitations. As a result, GPU Turbo enhances gaming experiences by boosting both performance and efficiency*.
