Grab, a Southeast Asian ride-hailing company, has introduced Grab for Work, a complimentary transport expense management tool for businesses in Southeast Asia. Designed for business leaders, managers, HR, and finance professionals in both SMEs and MNCs, Grab for Work provides a streamlined approach to handling company transportation costs.
Developed with feedback from over 150 companies in the region during its beta phase, Grab for Work is currently utilized by a similar number of businesses across Southeast Asia, including notable names such as Chope Group (Singapore), Park Hotel Group (Singapore), Rainmaker Labs (Singapore), Yesboss (Indonesia), and Malaysian Airlines (Malaysia).
Anthony Tan, CEO and Co-Founder of Grab, emphasized the company’s vision: “Companies should concentrate on growth and customer service. We recognized a need for a comprehensive transport solution and built a technology platform to modernize and simplify transport expense management for businesses. From booking rides to processing receipts and reimbursements, Grab for Work delivers a seamless experience, saving HR and finance teams valuable time.”
With Grab for Work, rides are marked as business trips and categorized within the Grab app. These rides are then synced to the Grab for Work web portal, acting as a centralized hub for businesses to manage and monitor employee travel.
The platform offers a range of features, such as:
- Expense Tracking and Management: Track and manage travel expenses by cost centers, departments, or project teams.
- Group Management: Utilize the groups feature to organize ride statements and implement diverse payment methods for groups or individuals. Schedule automated weekly or monthly reports delivered to your work email for efficient travel monitoring.
- Corporate Payment Options: Offer flexible payment methods to employees, such as automatic charges to company credit cards or the use of e-vouchers, personal credit cards, or cash.
- Ride Policy Enforcement: Management can control travel costs by setting ride policies that dictate when and where employees can claim business trips based on designated locations, times, and days. For instance, policies can be customized for business meetings or late-night rides.
- Paperless Operation: Rides booked through the Grab app are automatically consolidated in the Grab for Work portal in real-time. This includes comprehensive ride details such as employee name, travel date and time, pickup and drop-off points, vehicle type, and chosen payment method. This eliminates the hassle of manual tasks like scanning receipts and manually inputting trip information.
The Grab for Work portal is accessible to all Grab users without charge, offering additional benefits:
- Business and Personal Ride Separation: Easily categorize rides as business or personal within the Grab app, with all bookings automatically updated and sorted in the Grab for Work portal.
- Consolidated Receipts for Reimbursement: Employees can retrieve e-receipts for all completed rides via the Grab for Work portal. The platform’s search functionality simplifies the process of downloading past business ride history whenever needed.
Elaine Toh, Group Human Resource Director of Park Hotel Group, highlights the platform’s advantages: “Grab for Work effectively addresses the need for greater efficiency in administrative processes, especially in demanding sectors like hospitality. This solution will significantly reduce the time spent on administrative tasks, leading to increased productivity and more effective utilization of our human resources.”

This partnership is strategically important in Southeast Asia, and we are pleased to welcome Grab as a Concur App Center partner.”
