Epson introduces premium ultra-short throw projectors

Epson has introduced the EB-1400 series, a new line of high-end ultra-short throw projectors designed to improve teamwork and efficiency in business and educational settings.

The EB-1460Ui and EB-1450Ui projectors provide an interactive experience thanks to a built-in 50-page digital whiteboard with improved sharing capabilities. Up to 15 laptops and mobile devices connected to the network can simultaneously view and co-create drawings and images, fostering real-time collaboration. Users can join by scanning a QR code and use their device’s web browsers to easily access the shared whiteboard.

The PC-less functionality allows users to annotate images from various non-PC sources, such as smart devices, document cameras, or Blu-ray players. Additionally, users can display photo slideshows directly from a USB drive without needing a computer. After a meeting, drawings can be saved as standard files and easily shared via email, printed, or stored on a PC or network drive.

The EB-1400 series projectors provide a vibrant viewing experience, with WUXGA resolution (1,920 x 1,200), surpassing Full HD. The EB-1460Ui boasts 4,400 lumens, while the EB-1450Ui offers 3,800 lumens for enhanced brightness. Both models feature long lamp life, lasting up to 5,000 hours in standard mode and an impressive 10,000 hours in Eco mode.

Epson’s Easy Interactive Tools 4.20 software enables the projector to support up to six fingers and two interactive pens simultaneously, allowing multiple users to write on the board for increased engagement. Users can intuitively manipulate images by selecting, swiping, pinching to zoom, and rotating with their fingers.

The projectors seamlessly support interactivity across dual screens. Two projectors can be combined to create an ultra-wide interactive display of up to 177", ideal for large classrooms or boardrooms. Each projector individually supports a screen size up to 100", exceeding the size of typical flat panels. An optional table mount allows users to create an interactive tabletop surface.

Users can write or draw directly on Microsoft PowerPoint, Excel, or Word documents using Microsoft Office Ink when connected to a PC. These annotations are conveniently saved in Microsoft Office file formats.

The EB-1400 series simplifies presentations with advanced connectivity features. The Multi-PC Projection software allows up to 50 laptops and mobile devices to connect to a single projector. A host moderator PC can project content from up to four connected users simultaneously, facilitating content sharing in classrooms or meeting rooms. The projectors also support Microsoft Remote Desktop connectivity, providing easy access to remote PCs for content projection.

A multi-location interactivity feature enables real-time synchronized interactivity across up to four projectors in different locations. Integrating this feature with a video conferencing system allows for sharing live drawings during video calls, enhancing long-distance meetings and training sessions. The projectors can also transmit live drawings to other projectors via a DVI video output, expanding the audience reach.

The EB-1400 series offers various connectivity options, including two HDMI ports (one MHL-enabled for mirroring Android devices), built-in Wi-Fi for direct content projection from Android and iOS devices using the Epson iProjection app, and Miracast wireless screen mirroring for Android devices on the EB-1460Ui model.

“Epson continues to deliver smarter interactive projector technology with this new series, enhancing collaboration and user productivity. The innovative multi-location collaboration feature aims to transform how people connect and communicate across distances,” said Tan May Lin, Epson Singapore’s General Manager of Sales, Marketing, and Customer Service Division.

The EB-1450Ui and EB-1460Ui are currently available for S$4,055 and S$4,450, respectively. Contact Epson Singapore for availability details.
