Epson, a leading manufacturer of projectors, is introducing a new line of affordable Widescreen Ultra Extended Array (WUXGA) projectors. These projectors are designed for business use and offer high-resolution images that surpass Full HD video quality.
Siew Jin Kiat, General Manager of Epson Southeast Asia’s Visual Instruments Division, highlighted the significance of this release. For the first time, businesses can access Epson’s renowned high color and brightness projection at competitive prices. The EB-U04, an entry-level WUXGA projector, exemplifies this, offering superior image quality for budget-conscious customers seeking impactful presentations.
The EB-U04 boasts a WUXGA resolution of 1,920 x 1,200 pixels, exceeding Full HD capabilities. This results in sharper images, distortion-free video playback, and enhanced color and white brightness surpassing 3,000 lumens.
Epson emphasizes that their projectors utilize proprietary 3LCD technology. This technology ensures vibrant color projection and smooth movie playback without any color breakup. Compared to single-chip projectors, Epson projectors deliver three times higher color brightness and a wider color gamut. Additionally, Epson projectors eliminate the “rainbow effect,” a common drawback of single-chip technology that causes artifacts in dark, moving images.
Epson prioritizes seamless connectivity in their business projectors. The EB-U04 features multiple connectivity options, including VGA and LAN ports, as well as two HDMI ports. Notably, one HDMI port supports Mobile High Definition Link (MHL), allowing users to mirror HD content from compatible smart devices on a larger screen. The connected device can be conveniently controlled and charged using the projector’s remote.
Epson’s iProjection app simplifies presentation setup by enabling wireless connectivity between smart devices and the projector. Users can initiate the connection by scanning a QR code displayed on the projected screen. The app facilitates easy sharing and transmission of images, text, and files from smart devices.
The projector features automatic vertical keystone correction and a manual horizontal keystone adjuster. These features ensure a rectangular image projection even when the projector is not perpendicular to the screen.
A redesigned home screen provides quick access to source information and frequently used functions. Automatic input source detection allows presenters to start their presentations immediately upon connecting a content source.
Demonstrating its commitment to environmental responsibility, Epson has equipped the new projectors with lamps that last up to 10,000 hours in eco-mode. The filter maintenance cycle has also been extended to 10,000 hours. This extended lifespan not only reduces electronic waste but also lowers operating costs for businesses. It translates to approximately 3.5 years of usage based on eight hours of daily operation.
Epson has simplified the lamp replacement process. Unlike traditional projectors that require removal from ceiling mounts for lamp changes, these projectors feature an easily accessible lamp cover on the top side.
