Epson recently released the EB-600 series*, a new line of 3LCD projectors with advanced features. These features include ultra short throw projection at resolutions exceeding full HD, PC-free interactivity, and the first-ever seamless dual-screen interactivity.
Designed for classrooms and businesses, the new EB-600 series projectors (EB-696Ui, EB-695Wi2, EB-685Wi, EB-685W3, and EB-680) provide a vibrant viewing experience.
The series boasts WUXGA resolution (1,920 x 1,200), surpassing full HD, and a heightened brightness of 3,800 lumens. With a minimal throw ratio of 0.27, this ultra short throw projector series requires a mere 47cm to project an 80" screen, effectively minimizing shadow disruptions for smooth presentations.
This new series offers cost savings through its impressive 10,000 hours of lamp life in ECO mode. Even with this energy-saving feature activated, users can still enjoy a bright 2,900-lumen projection. Other eco-conscious features include an auto-brightness adjustment, which employs a luminance sensor to detect and modify the projector’s brightness levels, optimizing energy use.
For the first time, Epson’s interactive projectors offer seamless dual-screen interactivity. This creates an expansive interactive surface for classrooms or meeting rooms. The EB-600 series introduces finger-touch interactivity to a panoramic display, allowing users to write or manipulate objects smoothly across both screens for a captivating, larger-than-life presentation.
Epson’s Easy Interactive Tools 4.20 software enables the projector to support up to six fingers and two interactive pens simultaneously. This facilitates a collaborative environment where multiple users can write on the board at the same time. Even with wireless projection, users can select, swipe, pinch to zoom, and rotate images using their fingers. Moreover, the multi-PC projection feature allows up to 50 laptops and mobile devices to connect to a single projector, with a host PC serving as a moderator for content sharing.
The EB-600 series introduces another groundbreaking feature: PC-less interactive functionality. This allows users to write and draw directly on any projected image from non-PC sources such as smart devices, document cameras, and Blu-ray players. Additionally, photo slideshows can be loaded from a USB memory key and managed in PC-free mode.
The EB-600 series boasts enhanced connectivity, featuring three HDMI ports, one of which is MHL-enabled for mirroring content from Android mobile devices. With an optional USB wireless LAN adapter, users can wirelessly share and project images, text, and files directly from their smart devices and laptops using Epson’s iProjection app. The iProjection app also includes a built-in remote control feature for added ease and convenience.
“Epson’s innovative interactive projector technology is gaining traction in both education and corporate settings for delivering impactful presentations,” said Tan May Lin, Epson Singapore’s GM (Sales, Marketing & Customer Service Division). “We are dedicated to developing new interactive features that enhance the learning experience and meet the expectations of today’s discerning users.”
