UPDATE: Envisage Software has introduced Post Master Enterprise. This new product functions as a Windows Service, enabling it to post Dynamics GP batches even when the GP client is not running or logged in.

The author recently created an eConnect SOP integration to import a high volume of daily orders (up to 40,000) from an e-commerce platform into Dynamics GP.
Initial tests using sample data showed eConnect could manage over 500 transactions per minute, exceeding the import speed required for 40,000 daily orders.
However, a secondary challenge arose: while importing the orders was quick, posting them in GP was much slower. Since the orders originated from an active system, they didn’t require manual review within GP.
To address the posting bottleneck, the author sought an auto-posting solution for Dynamics GP and discovered Post Master by Envisage Software.
Impressively, Post Master is entirely .NET-based, utilizing only a few DLLs in the AddIns folder and no custom Dex dictionary. Developer Andrew Dean achieved this by maximizing Visual Studio Tools, managing the posting process without Dex code.
One notable .NET benefit is a system tray icon showing Post Master’s status (running, agent status), and offering start/stop functionality.
This system tray icon provides quick insight into the posting process without needing to access GP menus or windows.
Post Master’s ability to customize posting report generation for each batch source is another significant advantage. Users can save reports to a file, email them, or disable them for specific batch types.
For clients with diverse batch types requiring automated posting, Post Master’s Auto-Detect feature automatically posts batches based on user-defined batch source and ID filters.
This feature ensures continuous data accuracy and eliminates batch backlogs, freeing clients from constant monitoring.
Crucially, for those managing automated GP integrations or processes, Post Master includes a dedicated monitor agent. This agent detects GP posting process issues and notifies administrators via email.
While other valuable features exist, the author highlights these key benefits as particularly compelling.
Post Master is highly recommended for clients with high transaction volumes, frequent batch processing, or those seeking to eliminate the need for manual batch posting.
