Digi Telecommunications has significantly broadened its LTE network coverage in the Klang Valley, more than doubling its reach in this region. This expansion brings consistent LTE service to Digi customers in the area.
Albern Murty, Digi’s CEO, stated that the company’s dedication to expanding LTE service aligns with the government’s goal of providing widespread internet access for all Malaysians. This expanded LTE coverage in the Klang Valley, combined with Digi’s existing 3G network, supports the Economic Transformation Programme’s (ETP) objective of providing at least 2Mbps broadband speed to 80% of populated areas within Greater Kuala Lumpur.
“This commitment to expanding LTE coverage, both in the Klang Valley and across Malaysia, demonstrates our long-term investment in our network to connect all Malaysians,” Murty explained.
Digi intends to sustain this LTE rollout in the coming years, concentrating on areas with high demand for LTE services and devices. These efforts aim to make a tangible difference in connecting more people across the nation. Digi’s 4G LTE services are already available in various locations, including the Klang Valley, Penang, Johor Bahru, Kuantan, Kota Kinabalu, Tawau, Labuan, Kuching, Miri, Bintulu, Kampar, Langkawi, and Port Dickson.
The company is also dedicated to enhancing network quality. In the upcoming quarters, Digi plans to concurrently expand network coverage, increase capacity, and significantly improve both indoor and outdoor internet experiences within the Klang Valley.
“Our priority is to guarantee nationwide access to high-quality internet services," Murty affirmed. “We’re achieving this through substantial improvements in network performance and coverage, a wider variety of affordable smartphone bundles, including options under RM200, and innovative digital services tailored to diverse customer usage.”
