Dell introduces an improved range of PCs for both consumer and commercial markets

Dell debuted groundbreaking personal computing innovations at the annual Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in the US. They also updated their XPS, Inspiron, and Alienware consumer lines. Their OptiPlex, Latitude, and Precision commercial products received upgrades to 7th Gen Intel Core processors, USB-C with Thunderbolt 3 connectivity, and new professional graphics from NVIDIA and AMD. Dell’s monitor lineup also saw a refresh. The new Dell PC portfolio is equipped with Windows 10 and 7th Gen Intel Core processors, designed to maximize user productivity and creativity.

Dell’s 2014 smart desk concept has evolved into the Dell Canvas, a new type of smart workspace technology for creative professionals. The 27" QHD workspace can be positioned at an angle or flat on a desk, allowing for a natural pen-and-paper-like creative experience.

The Dell Canvas integrates touch, digital pen, and physical “totems” to incorporate drawings into a digital workflow and foster team collaboration. Developed with Microsoft, the Dell Canvas works with any Windows 10 device and integrates seamlessly with software from companies like Adobe, Autodesk, AVID, Dassault Systems, SolidWorks, and Microsoft.

The Dell Precision AIO prioritizes high-quality audio and visuals. Created in collaboration with Grammy Award-winning Producer Jack Joseph Puig, the new Precision AIO has impressive built-in audio quality, eliminating the need for an external sound bar. With full-frequency high-fidelity audio, the Precision AIO boasts the best sound of its kind. Its ten built-in speakers deliver 50W of sound per channel. The viewing experience is enhanced by a 4K Ultra HD (3,840 x 2,160) edge-to-edge touch display, which supports 100% of the Adobe RGB color gamut.

The Precision AIO offers increased performance with Intel Xeon processors, VR-capable AMD Radeon Pro graphics, and guaranteed compatibility with various third-party applications. It comes with ISV certifications for leading programs like AVID and SolidWorks and top-tier security and management software.

The demand for VR content creators has risen alongside the popularity of VR headsets. Dell’s response is the Precision 7720 mobile workstation, their first specifically designed for VR content creation. Featuring the latest 7th Gen Intel Core and Intel Xeon processors, as well as NVIDIA Pascal Quadro professional graphics, it’s Dell’s most powerful mobile workstation. Dell boasts the widest selection of VR-capable PCs, including XPS, Alienware, and Precision workstations designed to work with Oculus and HTC headsets.

The Dell UltraSharp 32 Ultra HD 8K Monitor is the first 32" 8K resolution display in the world. It displays over a billion colors with 33.2 million pixels of resolution, provides 100% support for the Adobe RGB and sRGB color gamut, and has an unprecedented 280 pixels per inch (ppi). That’s four times the content of a 4K display and sixteen times that of a Full HD display.

Monitors with this level of high-end resolution, Dell PremierColor clarity, and gradation are essential for industries requiring detailed image zooming, such as photo and video editing, medicine and diagnostic research, and oil and gas exploration—all early adopters of this technology. The monitor’s nearly borderless design also gives users a full 32" of screen space in a compact package.

Dell also announced several new monitors with HDR³ capability, enhancing the viewing experience with an expanded color range, greater clarity with vibrant textures, and improved contrast that captures a spectrum of natural shades and hues. These monitors include the Dell 27 Ultrathin Monitor, the world’s thinnest in its class, and the Dell 24 and 27 InfinityEdge Monitors, featuring dual 6W external speakers professionally tuned by Waves MaxxAudio.

While wireless connectivity has been standard in laptops for some time, the power cord has remained a constant. Dell is set to deliver a truly wireless experience by integrating WiTricity magnetic resonance wireless charging into the 12” Latitude 7285 2-in-1, available later this year.

When paired with a charging mat and WiGig wireless dock, users can work untethered from their desks. When they return and place the 2-in-1 on the charging mat, it automatically begins charging, reconnects to the WiGig dock, and projects content to the external display. More details about the Latitude 7285 2-in-1 and its wireless charging capabilities will be released at Dell EMC World in May.

Dell has also updated the XPS 15, the most compact 15.6" laptop available, with 7th Gen Intel Core processors, NVIDIA GeForce GTX 100 graphics based on Pascal architecture, and a fingerprint reader for password-free logins using Windows Hello.

Products designed for businesses also received updates, including 7th Gen Intel Core vPro and Xeon processors and new ultrathin notebook and 2-in-1 designs. This reflects customer demand for slim, lightweight professional products without sacrificing productivity, security, or manageability. For example, Dell launched the Precision 5520, the world’s lightest 15" mobile workstation. New additions to the lineup include Latitude 7000 Series Ultrabooks and an award-winning 12" Latitude 5000 Series 2-in-1. The detachable 2-in-1 weighs under 1kg and boasts an auto-deploy kickstand with various connectivity options and a 150-degree range of motion for versatile viewing angles.

Dell has redefined the desktop experience with the new OptiPlex 5250 AIO and an updated range of OptiPlex small and micro form factor desktops. These offer full desktop performance and productivity in a smaller form factor that can be mounted behind compatible displays using Dell AIO stands or under a table for increased desk space.

New Dell monitors also include the Dell 24 Monitor for Video Conferencing, featuring a 2-megapixel Full HD infrared (IR) camera with a privacy shutter, a noise-canceling microphone, and dual 5W built-in speakers. Additionally, they launched the Dell 24 Touch Monitor.
