Dell has launched a new suite of end-user computing products designed to meet the diverse requirements of mobile and professional users globally. These solutions incorporate the latest computing technologies within stylish new designs, taking inspiration from Dell’s consumer product line. Developed in partnership with Microsoft and Intel, these systems come equipped with the new Windows 10 platform and either 6th Generation Intel Core processors or the newest Intel Xeon processors for mobile workstations, enhancing the overall user experience.

Dell has charted the changing norms in the workplace and tailored its new solutions accordingly. For example, 59% of employees have less office space compared to 10 years ago, and 50% of employees check email and take work-related calls after office hours.

Dell has analyzed the evolving workplace landscape and customized its latest offerings accordingly. For instance, compared to a decade ago, 59% of employees now have less office space, and 50% check emails and answer work-related calls outside of traditional work hours. Dell believes that the rapidly changing workforce necessitates business investments in technology that empowers employees to work more efficiently, make better-informed decisions, and enhance their productivity and collaboration.

“2015 was an exceptional year for us, and we aim to maintain this momentum by continuing to meet our customers’ most critical computing needs,” shared Rakesh Mandal, General Manager of Client Solutions for South Asia and Korea at Dell. “We strive to deliver powerful and well-rounded products by combining industry-leading solutions.”

Foong Chee Ngiam, Chief Marketing and Operations Officer at Microsoft Singapore, added, “Microsoft aims to empower every organization and individual to achieve more. Windows 10 delivers a more personalized computing experience across devices with new features and seamless mobility. As of January this year, over 76% of our enterprise clients are actively piloting Windows 10, with over 22 million devices running the operating system across enterprise and education sectors globally. We are proud to partner with Dell to offer businesses in Singapore the familiarity of Windows paired with cutting-edge computing solutions, addressing the demands of today’s evolving workplace.”

Mandal stressed the importance of future-proofing Dell’s solutions by addressing evolving user requirements. He explained that customer input and research-driven workplace personas heavily influence their research and development efforts. “User experience is at the core of Dell’s design philosophy,” he stated during his presentation.

Mandal’s presentation included an introduction to five different workplace personas: desk-centric, corridor warrior, on-the-go pro, remote and purpose-built, and the four categories of computing solutions that address their needs.

Mandal’s presentation introduced five distinct workplace personas: Desk-centric, Corridor Warrior, On-the-go Pro, Remote and Purpose-built. He then outlined the four categories of computing solutions catering to their specific needs. For example, while Desk-centric employees thrive with multiple large displays and efficient space utilization, Corridor Warriors require convenient, portable solutions enabling seamless transitions between workstations as they frequently move around the office.

Dell and Windows 10

Dell’s collaboration with Microsoft began in 2013 to leverage key features within Windows 10. Their latest devices are optimized for Windows 10, featuring Continuum, Office Mobile Apps, and Microsoft Edge, which allows users to annotate and share web pages. Windows 10’s built-in, enterprise-grade security safeguards businesses against modern cyber threats. Additionally, businesses can manage the frequency of their updates and customize functionalities for different employee groups.

“The future workforce is already here,” stated Sameer Tupaki, Head of Marketing for Intel Singapore and Malaysia. “We witness the daily transformation of teams becoming more mobile and collaborative, operating in borderless, high-performing environments. Intel technology is crucial to this evolution. Devices powered by 6th Gen Intel Core processors, built in partnership with Dell, deliver a impactful user experience for both work and leisure with an optimal blend of mobility and performance.”

New OptiPlex Desktops Optimize the Workplace

The fully redesigned OptiPlex portfolio, marketed as the world’s most secure and manageable commercial desktops, changes perceptions of traditional desktops with its smaller, faster, and more energy-efficient micro form factor, small form factor, and mini tower designs. This refresh leverages Skylake processors, bypassing Haswell and Broadwell models, as explained by Huang Zhiwei, Business Development Manager of Client Solutions for Singapore Commercial at Dell.

Space savings are substantial compared to previous generations. The mini tower is 43% smaller than its predecessor, while micro desktops can save over 7,700 sq ft of workspace when replacing 10,000 legacy desktops. According to Huang, customers are mounting micro form factor systems behind monitors to create “pseudo all-in-ones”.

A new 3000/5000/7000 model numbering system simplifies product comparisons for customers. The updated portfolio includes:

  • OptiPlex 7040: A compact, enterprise-grade desktop offering premium management, security, and extensive expandability, including discrete graphics, dual hard drives, and triple display support.

  • OptiPlex 5040: A commercial desktop surpassing the 3040 in performance while maintaining security and manageability.

  • OptiPlex 3040: A business desktop providing security, manageability, and high performance at an accessible price point.

  • OptiPlex 24 7000 Series All-In-One (7440): A secure all-in-one with a sleek design, a 23.8" Full HD display, and an optional 4K Ultra HD display.

  • OptiPlex 22 3000 Series All-In-One (3240): An all-in-one delivering business-class performance and a new 21.5" Full HD display.
