To celebrate the Year of the Rabbit, DBS/POSB is expanding its blended digital and physical (“phygital”) Chinese New Year (CNY) gifting and rewards programs.
This CNY, customers can take advantage of the following:
Conveniently order DBS QR Gift cards (QR AngBaos) through the bank’s chatbot, digibot, and have them delivered before CNY.
A chance to win a Tesla Model 3 and other rewards, including cash rebates, by switching to QR Gift and other DBS/POSB digital transactions.
Convenient access to new and “Fit-for-Gifting” notes at 72 pop-up ATMs in DBS/POSB self-service branches and community centers, an increase from 64 ATMs last year. These are in addition to the existing network of over 1,200 DBS/POSB ATMs available for cash withdrawals 24/7.
More flexibility when reserving S$10 and S$50 notes, with options to reserve in batches of S$100, up to S$500.

Digital Gifts
Due to popular demand, the free DBS QR Gift order and delivery service is back for both DBS/POSB and non-bank customers. The service has been improved to be even easier through the bank’s chatbot, digibot. Customers can place orders through digibot until January 12th, and cards will be mailed to them by January 20th.
According to DBS, customers are increasingly choosing digital gifting options like DBS QR Gift (QR AngBao) and eGift (eAngBao). During CNY 2022, customers gifted S$100 million in angbaos via DBS QR Gift, a sixfold increase since its 2019 launch. During the same period, the number of QR Gifts redeemed tripled. Customers are also embracing eGifts, with the average amount sent per eGift increasing by 15% year-on-year to S$68 in 2022. Employers are also going digital for CNY. 73 companies gifted DBS QR Gift cards to their employees in 2022, double the previous year.
Companies that have committed to gifting DBS QR Gift cards to employees and stakeholders for CNY 2023 have already loaded over 56,000 cards, more than double the number loaded for CNY 2022. Ng Nam Bee Marketing, for example, is currently running a sure-win cash lucky draw in which customers who buy a packet of Flying Man Fragrant Rice receive a DBS QR Gift card. The cards, loaded with values ranging from S$1 to S$3,888, must be redeemed through DBS PayLah! or PayNow by February 28, 2023.

Lucky Draw
To show appreciation for customers who choose eco-friendly and cashless options this CNY, the bank is giving away a Tesla Model 3 as part of the DBS Cashless Lucky Draw.
From now until March 31st, DBS/POSB customers can earn lucky draw entries by using DBS QR Gift cards, DBS eGifts, or DBS Remit. Customers who avoid cash withdrawals in a calendar month will receive 50 additional bonus entries, while DBS Multiplier account holders will receive double entries for qualifying transactions and no cash withdrawals. The prize draw will take place on April 28, 2023.
Additionally, 1,000 eligible customers with the highest DBS QR Gift and eGift transaction counts between January 3rd and February 5th will receive S$18 in cashback.

Ang Pao Note Collection
This year, customers can withdraw new and Fit notes from 72 pop-up ATMs at 47 locations, up from 64 ATMs last year. This service is available daily from 10 am to 10 pm until January 20th, and from 10 am to 1 pm on January 21st (CNY eve). POSB service ambassadors will be available at all 47 locations during operating hours to assist customers, and each customer is limited to three new and Fit note withdrawals during this time.

The bank has improved its online reservation and note collection services this year in response to customer input. Customers who reserve notes online now have more options. To better serve seniors who reserve notes online, five collection slots will be set aside for them per hour at each DBS/POSB full-service branch during business hours.
Walk-in withdrawals and exchanges of new and Fit notes at branches will be limited to customers aged 60 and up, as well as those with disabilities, as part of national efforts to protect those who may be more vulnerable to Covid-19. All other customers must reserve a slot online through DBS’ note reservation system, specifying their preferred branch, collection date and time, as well as the quantity of QR Gift cards, new, and Fit notes in their desired denominations.
This year, there will be two reservation and collection windows, with each customer receiving one reservation slot during the CNY period.

Inspired by the excitement of reuniting with family, friends, and loved ones after a two-year hiatus due to pandemic restrictions, this year’s red packet design is themed “More like a family reunion, Less like a bank”. The inside of each red packet depicts a family of nine celebrating together.
The red packets and their sleeves are made of environmentally friendly paper and printed with soy-based ink, which allows for easy recycling and promotes a circular economy, continuing DBS’ commitment to sustainability. Customers can get these red packets, as well as DBS QR Gift cards, at DBS/POSB branches or POSB pop-up ATMs.
Year-round recycling bins for used red packets and DBS QR Gift cards are available at DBS/POSB full-service branches to encourage the recycling of used packets for all occasions, including weddings, Hari Raya, and Deepavali.
