The new CUBE Boutique Capsule Hotel in Kampong Glam increases RB Hospitality’s inventory of affordable lodging options by 56 beds. Situated within revitalized historic districts, RB Hospitality specializes in providing budget-friendly accommodations in culturally significant areas. This opening complements their existing successful capsule hotel in Singapore’s Chinatown.
RB Hospitality’s Co-Founders, CEO Benedict Choa and COO Sonia Anya Tay, were inspired to create capsule hotels due to the limited availability of affordable lodging choices for families.
“We selected Kampong Glam for its energy, charm, and rich cultural heritage. The area boasts attractions like the Sultan Mosque and Malay Heritage Centre, alongside various shops, cafes, restaurants, and lively spots such as the trendy Haji Lane. Additionally, the Bugis MRT Station is conveniently located just a five-minute walk away,” remarked Tay.
The CUBE Boutique Capsule Hotel in Kampong Glam, positioned along the Kampong Glam Heritage Trail, is designed to appeal to tech-savvy travelers. CUBE has also drawn business travelers seeking practical and budget-friendly lodging. For enhanced safety and privacy, female travelers can opt for accommodations in the women-only rooms.

“Our typical guests are global explorers between 18 and 35 years old, encompassing entrepreneurs of new-age businesses and members of specialized interest groups. The enthusiastic response to our properties has fueled our plans to introduce a fresh CUBE Capsule concept by year-end. This strategy aligns with our ambition to expand our presence to eight CUBE Boutique Capsule Hotels in Singapore within the next few years,” added Tay.
With room names inspired by nearby streets, configurations range from two to 18 capsules. Each capsule measures 6 ft x 3 ft x 4 ft for single occupancy or 6 ft x 5 ft x 4 ft for a queen, featuring comfortable mattresses and linens. The design prioritizes individualized temperature and airflow control, along with noise reduction through insulation.
Shared bathroom facilities include standing showers, hairdryers, and bath products. Upon check-in, guests receive a dental kit, slippers, and a towel, which can be exchanged daily. A communal washing machine with complimentary detergent is available for guest use, and work desks are also provided.
In addition to complimentary Wi-Fi, guests can enjoy a daily breakfast showcasing local flavors within a relaxed communal dining space. A diverse selection of food and beverage options, including halal choices, are readily available nearby. Guests can also utilize Dining Butler, a smartphone application, to order food for delivery.
Located within the hotel lobby, the Singapore Visitor Centre provides convenient tour bookings to popular destinations. A 24/7 reception desk ensures constant assistance for guests.
