Source: The Upper House. For the past four years, The Upper House has presented a unique, sustainably-crafted Christmas tree. This year, international architectural firm COLLECTIVE partners with Wu Chi Kai, one of Hong Kong’s three remaining neon sign artisans, to create the Doodle Tree, a work that elevates traditional neon artistry. Rather than a typical flat design, the team created a three-dimensional neon sculpture using classic glass-bending methods and innovative approaches. The Upper House will hold an auction for the tree, with proceeds donated to ImpactHK, a local charity. Those interested can submit bids (starting at HK$40,000) to kristina@upperhouse.com by December 31, 2020.
The Upper House
The Upper House welcomes the holiday season with a Christmas tree conceptualized by architectural firm COLLECTIVE and Streetsign HK. Inspired by Hong Kong’s symbolic street signs, the tree will be auctioned to benefit ImpactHK, a local organization supporting those experiencing homelessness. Meanwhile, Café Gray Deluxe concludes its 11-year run as a renowned Hong Kong dining destination with special holiday meals, including Christmas feasts and a New Year’s Eve dinner. The restaurant’s last day of service is December 31, 2020.
