Changi Airport has enhanced its well-known *Be a Changi Millionaire*_ retail promotion this year by adding a new prize: a Volvo S90 T5 luxury sedan. This is in addition to the existing S$1 million cash prize. According to Changi Airport, this is the largest retail promotion at any airport globally.
To enter the lucky draw, shoppers simply need to spend S$50 or more in a single receipt** at participating locations between May 4th and October 31st, 2017. Each month, one finalist will be chosen to participate in the Grand Draw, bringing them closer to the “Changi Millionaire” title. Additionally, a seventh finalist will be selected from eligible shoppers on iShopChangi (Changi Airport’s online shopping site), and an eighth finalist will be selected from Platinum members of the Changi Rewards loyalty program. The chances of winning are immediately tripled*** for Changi Rewards Platinum cardholders, iShopChangi customers, and those who pay with Alipay.
Shoppers who spend more than S$500 across multiple purchases in a single day will be entered to win the Volvo sedan, which is from Volvo’s premium sedan lineup and has a turbocharged engine and an 8-speed Geartronic transmission.
“The Be a Changi Millionaire promotion has been steadily gaining popularity among our shoppers worldwide and is now synonymous with Changi Airport’s exciting retail offers. We’re constantly exploring ways to elevate the excitement for our shoppers. By introducing the all-new Volvo S90 T5 luxury sedan as an added prize alongside the million dollars, Changi Airport shoppers now have even more opportunities to win big,” said Lim Peck Hoon, Executive VP, Commercial, Changi Airport Group.
Throughout the six-month promotion, four Volvo S90 sedans will be displayed at Be a Changi Millionaire event locations throughout Changi’s terminals. Shoppers can also participate in interactive games to win instant prizes such as shopping vouchers redeemable at Changi’s retail outlets, either on-site or at the event*.
With the addition of the new prize category, a total of 14 finalists will compete for the two grand prizes in the shopping campaign’s final face-off, which will take place in early 2018 in front of a live audience. All finalists will receive a three-night hotel stay in Singapore****, with one finalist winning the grand prize of S$1 million and another winning the all-new Volvo S90. The remaining finalists in the S$1 million cash prize draw will each receive S$5,000 in cash, while those in the car draw will each receive S$1,000.
Last year’s campaign drew nearly 1.2 million entries from people all over the world. Seven Changi Airport shoppers have realized their million-dollar dreams since the campaign’s inception, including Singaporeans Ivan Rantung (2010) and Peh Hock Peng (2012), Australian Jessica Down (2011), Indonesians Irvung Tio (2013) and Ade Iskandar (2016), Irish Linda Tobin (2015), and Japanese Seiichiro Oiyama (2014).
