Beogram 4002 (5513): Rebuilding the Output Board, Installation of a Grounding Switch and Repair of the Keypad

My Beogram 4002 (5513) restoration is almost done. Today, I worked on Output PCB #8 and fixed a loose key on the keypad.

The Output PCB #8 was initially in this condition:

I prefer to replace the output relay as they tend to get stuck with age. Luckily, the relay is the same one used for platter RPM switching, so my custom replacement boards work here as well:

These replacement parts are available to anyone interested; feel free to email me.

Here’s the relay and capacitor after replacement:

The red switch allows for the connection of the system and signal grounds. This helps resolve any humming from faulty connections in the amplifier or cable (especially when using RCA adapters without a system ground breakout).

Before reinstalling the board, I repaired the keypad. One key was popping up due to a loose key stop:

Here’s the back of the STOP key with the loose stop:

I glued the stop back in place and reattached the loose pad strips on the sides:

The keypad repair yielded excellent results:

Looking great! Time to move on to adjusting the chassis and platter.
