The travel search engine KAYAK has revealed the winners of its first KAYAK Travel Awards. Sixteen categories, including airlines, airports, hotels, and destinations, were awarded based on public votes collected over 19 days from June 12th to June 30th, 2018.

Singaporean brands dominated the awards. Singapore Airlines received top honors in four categories: Favourite Airline (Short-haul), Favourite Airline (Long-haul), Favourite Airline Crew, and Favourite In-flight F&B. Scoot secured the Favourite Low-cost Carrier award, while Singapore Changi Airport was named Favourite Airport.

Presented in Singapore on July 19th, the awards revealed that travelers from Singapore favor Tokyo, Japan, and Seoul, South Korea, for extended vacations. Hong Kong was chosen as Singapore’s preferred budget-friendly destination. For shorter getaways and beach vacations, Bali, Indonesia, emerged as the top choice, with Chiang Mai in Thailand taking the title of Singapore’s favorite up-and-coming destination.

*The shortlist of nominees was based on search data from KAYAK.sg between January 1st, 2017, and March 31st, 2018. The top five contenders in each category were then presented to Singaporeans and Singapore residents on KAYAK.sg for voting between June 12th and June 30th. Winners and runners-up were determined by the total number of votes received from the public.
