Adobe has introduced new features for Adobe Document Cloud, providing user-friendly mobile experiences. Document Cloud enables users to work seamlessly across integrated cloud services, mobile, and desktop applications. Leading this update are enhancements to Adobe Sign for increased usability and accessibility, and Adobe Scan, a new complimentary app that transforms mobile devices into smart scanning and text recognition tools.
“Documents are fundamental to society, conveying information from contracts and textbooks to financial statements and everything in between,” stated Abhay Parasnis, CTO of Adobe. “The challenge lies in unlocking the intelligence within these documents and extracting meaningful insights that can be searched, analyzed, and integrated into digital workflows. Adobe Scan, empowered by Adobe Sensei’s intelligent services, represents a significant stride toward our broader innovation goal for Adobe Document Cloud.”
Available on iOS and Android, Adobe Scan converts smartphones and tablets into scanning tools capable of automatically recognizing text. They can instantly capture images and convert them into clear Adobe PDFs. With Adobe Scan, you can:
Scan anything into high-quality PDFs using your mobile device. Adobe Scan, driven by Adobe Sensei’s intelligent services, automates boundary detection, auto-cropping, perspective correction, and auto-cleaning, eliminating shadows and enhancing text clarity.
Effortlessly capture shopping receipts, paper documents, business cards, or whiteboards, or select an image from your camera roll and let Adobe Scan handle the rest.
Digitize scanned text with complimentary automatic text recognition (OCR). The text can be selected, copied, or annotated using Acrobat Reader DC or Acrobat DC, making it searchable and reusable within a secure and dependable Adobe PDF.
The free Adobe Scan app and a complimentary Adobe Document Cloud account allow users to seamlessly upload, store, share, and retrieve scanned files online.
Leverage the new mobile functionality in Adobe Sign to automatically sign and send documents from any device.
“Adobe Scan represents a transformative approach to capturing your most crucial document content,” said Bryan Lamkin, Executive VP and GM, Digital Media at Adobe. “Adobe pioneered PDF creation for PCs, and with Adobe Scan, we’re replicating this success for a mobile-first world. As part of Adobe Document Cloud, new apps like Adobe Scan integrate seamlessly with services like Adobe Sign and Acrobat DC, providing a modern document experience with unparalleled value to our customers.”
Adobe Sign simplifies the automation of tasks within a document workflow, ranging from e-signatures and approvals to form filling and certified document delivery. A commissioned study conducted by Forrester Consulting for Adobe revealed that businesses using Adobe Sign realized benefits of US$2 million over three years, with a 383% ROI, including a significant reduction in environmental impact.
New features in Adobe Sign include:
· Cloud-based digital signatures – Previously a customer preview, Adobe Sign now offers the world’s first cloud-based digital signatures based on an open standard. Digital signatures are now accessible in any browser and on any mobile device.

Send a text message to a touch-enabled mobile device and sign using your finger or stylus, then complete the process back on your desktop. A single tap adds it to the document.
· Customizable email templates – Extend your brand and personalize customer interactions with fully customizable email templates for signature requests and confirmations. Grant your marketing team complete control to utilize the company logo, banner images, custom messages, and other visual elements to create a unique brand experience.
· Business stamps – Improve compliance by enabling participants to add a visible business stamp, such as a ‘received’ image, company seal, or personal identifier like a Hanko stamp in Japan, to documents or forms.
· Integration with ServiceNow – Expedite onboarding and enhance customer service by integrating Adobe Sign into ServiceNow workflows. Send contracts, agreements, and new hire forms directly from ServiceNow.
