Acronis True Image 2021 provides a combination of cybersecurity and backup solutions

Acronis, a global cyber protection company, has introduced Acronis True Image 2021. This new product combines robust cybersecurity features with personal backup, creating a comprehensive personal cyber protection solution for individuals, demanding home users, and small businesses with up to five users.

With the increase in remote work, securing home computers has become crucial. However, an Acronis survey revealed that nearly half (47%) of remote workers haven’t received clear guidance on cybersecurity while working from home.

Acronis True Image now includes cybersecurity features like real-time malware protection, on-demand antivirus scans, web filtering, and video conferencing protection to provide comprehensive cyber protection.

“With more people working and learning from home, the FBI reports a 400% surge in cyberattacks as hackers target less secure home systems,” said Serguei “SB” Beloussov, Acronis Founder and CEO. “Backup without cybersecurity is insufficient in this environment, just as cybersecurity without backup is inadequate. Acronis True Image 2021 offers the straightforward, effective, and reliable cyber protection needed today.”

At the virtual launch of Acronis True Image 2021 Acronis executives highlighted the three pillars of the all-in-one solution: backup and recovery, antimalware and antivirus, as well as easy management.

During the virtual launch of Acronis True Image 2021, Acronis executives emphasized the three core components of this all-in-one solution: backup and recovery, antimalware and antivirus, and user-friendly management.

“The traditional security measures of offices no longer apply because everyone is essentially working on personal devices outside their company’s secure network,” explained Stas Protassov, Acronis Technology President and Co-founder, highlighting the vulnerability of remote workers. “You are not protected by your company’s firewall and are potentially a prime target for attackers.”

Threats can originate internally or externally, resulting in data loss due to errors, theft, hardware failure, or cyberattacks. Backup software and files are often targeted by cyberattacks to hinder recovery, making standalone backup solutions insufficient. Conversely, traditional cybersecurity solutions lack the necessary data protection and recovery features.

Relying on multiple incompatible products creates security gaps, increases management complexity, and raises costs. Acronis True Image 2021 addresses these challenges by proactively blocking malware attacks and swiftly restoring affected files. Its user-friendly interface simplifies security and backup management.

For several years, Acronis True Image has been the only personal backup solution with integrated anti-ransomware technology that stops attacks in real time and automatically recovers affected files. Acronis True Image 2021 expands these capabilities with advanced antimalware technology currently used in Acronis Cyber Protect Cloud.

This comprehensive antimalware solution employs both behavioral and signature-based detection engines, achieving a 100% detection rate with zero false positives in independent lab tests conducted by VirusBulletin and AV-Test.

New features in the 2021 version include:

  • AI-enhanced behavioral heuristics provide real-time protection that stops all malware, including zero-day attacks.
  • Scheduled or on-demand antivirus scans of the entire system or specific at-risk files.
  • Web filtering automatically blocks access to malicious websites hosting malware, misinformation, scams, and phishing attempts for Windows users.
  • Video conferencing protection prevents hackers and malware injections from exploiting popular applications such as Zoom, Cisco Webex, and Microsoft Teams.

These advanced antimalware features are available with Advanced and Premium licenses and are offered as a three-month trial with Standard and Essential licenses.

Acronis True Image 2021 provides individuals and small businesses with the same protection technologies used by multinational corporations and professional sports teams. “Cyber protection is paramount for Rahal Letterman Lanigan Racing,” explained Bobby Rahal, co-owner of Rahal Letterman Lanigan Racing. “While our races were paused, Acronis continued to protect our team working remotely. Now, with Acronis True Image, everyone can protect their data against worst-case scenarios.”

Protassov added that Acronis enhances protection by providing training on recognizing suspicious activity, monitoring for unusual user behavior, and encrypting customer data passing through their systems.

This data encryption is client-initiated, with the client providing the encryption key. Protassov emphasized that Acronis cannot decrypt the data without the client’s key.

Acronis combines data protection and cybersecurity to deliver integrated, automated cyber protection that addresses the safety, accessibility, privacy, authenticity, and security (SAPAS) challenges of the modern digital world. Their offerings include next-generation antivirus, backup, disaster recovery, and endpoint protection management solutions, all powered by AI-based anti-malware and blockchain-based data authentication technologies.

Details:

Acronis True Image is available in four editions: Standard, Essential, Advanced, and Premium. One-computer licenses start at S$82 for Standard and S$68 for Essential. *Some security solutions may not detect all malware in tests, resulting in a detection rate below 100%. False positives occur when a solution incorrectly identifies safe files as malware.

**Zero-day attacks exploit newly discovered vulnerabilities (zero days since discovery). These attacks are often more successful because the vulnerability hasn’t been patched yet.
