Today, I replaced all the indicator lamps in the Beomaster 1900.
I switched out the original incandescent Bass, Treble, and Balance indicator lamps with LED/resistor lamp assemblies. This is because incandescent lamps produce more heat, which can be seen in the white spots on the red lamp lenses. LED lamp assemblies generate less heat.
The board shown here originally housed the Bass, Treble, and Balance lamps. Anticipating future needs, I created more LED replacement lamp assemblies than the required three for this project.
The newly installed Bass, Treble, and Balance LED lamp assemblies are shown here. Since polarity is important with LEDs, I indicated the positive lead’s placement on the board.
I replaced the other twelve indicator lamps with new incandescent lamps from Beoparts. These specific lamps are required for these indicators to ensure the proper operation of the underlying Beomaster 1900 circuits.
The volume control board uses two lamps, while the selected source and FM tuning indicator board uses ten.
The lamps are shown in the “before” photo below. These appear to be replacements, likely installed when the Beomaster’s 15-volt power supply bridge rectifier was replaced.
The new lamps are shown here. All of them are uniform and of the same type.
This Beomaster is now ready to be put back together before undergoing power supply testing.
