A Pair of Beomaster 1900 Receivers for Restoration: Capacitor Replacement and Slider Controls on Unit #2

The second Beomaster 1900 unit is prepped for reassembly after completing the capacitor replacements and slider control repairs.

The Volume Control board was addressed first, requiring six capacitor replacements. Here’s the board before:

And after the replacements:

The Tone Control and FM Tuning board came next. While it only needed ten capacitors replaced, the Bass, Treble, and Balance sliders needed attention. The Tone Control board before capacitor replacement is shown below:

With the replacements complete, the board now looks like this:

Like the first Beomaster 1900, the Balance slide control was in good condition and only needed cleaning. However, the Bass and Treble controls showed the typical broken tabs on the slider bridges. The following photos depict the Bass control’s removal and repair:

The Treble and Balance controls are shown in the next image:

The following image shows the fully repaired slider controls and some of the key tools used:

With these steps finished, the Beomaster 1900 is ready for reassembly and subsequent power supply testing.
